Starting Dumb Mode
Tap Allowed Apps and approve Screen Time access. Choose anything that should remain available. Set a duration with the directional pad, then press the center key.
Ending early
Press the upper-right soft key. Type an honest reason with at least 10 characters, continue, then hold the center key for 30 uninterrupted seconds. Lifting your finger restarts the hold.
The essentials
Use keys 1 through 4 for Calls, Texts, Maps, and Camera. The camera can shoot and preview photos or videos without opening your photo library. Key 5 opens WORM, which is vital infrastructure.
Screen Time permission
If Dumb Mode cannot start, open iPhone Settings and confirm that Stupid Dumb Phone has Screen Time access. Restart the app after changing permission.
