SUPPORT FOR A PHONE THAT DOES LESS

Something too smart
happened.

Starting Dumb Mode

Tap Allowed Apps and approve Screen Time access. Choose anything that should remain available. Set a duration with the directional pad, then press the center key.

Ending early

Press the upper-right soft key. Type an honest reason with at least 10 characters, continue, then hold the center key for 30 uninterrupted seconds. Lifting your finger restarts the hold.

The essentials

Use keys 1 through 4 for Calls, Texts, Maps, and Camera. The camera can shoot and preview photos or videos without opening your photo library. Key 5 opens WORM, which is vital infrastructure.

Screen Time permission

If Dumb Mode cannot start, open iPhone Settings and confirm that Stupid Dumb Phone has Screen Time access. Restart the app after changing permission.

Family setup

On the parent phone, choose Control My Kid's Phone and create the family control. On the child phone, choose Pair This Kid's Phone, enter the six-digit code, approve Apple's Family Controls request, and choose the apps that should remain available.

Remote changes

The child phone checks for parent changes when the Family app opens or becomes active. The parent dashboard says pending or offline until the child phone confirms the latest policy; it never pretends an unconfirmed change is active.

Deleting family control

On the parent dashboard, choose Delete Family Control to delete the synced family record and remove the parent connection. This does not silently unlock a child phone that is currently shielded.

Contact support

Email tylerward@gmail.com with your app name, iPhone model, iOS version, and a short description of what happened. For Family support, also include which phone is acting as the parent, which is the child, and the status shown on the parent dashboard. Support questions, general feedback, and feature requests are welcome.
